The amount of time you need to dedicate to onboarding depends on your goals, the support of your team, and how much time you can set aside.
The amount of time you spend on onboarding each week really depends on your organisation, goals, what you want to get out of HubSpot, and how many processes you are bringing in. However, we know it helps to give a ballpark figure.
It is important to note that you will need to dedicate time outside our calls to action and complete background work that coincides with your onboarding schedule.
We recommend dedicating at least 3 hours per week to onboarding tasks outside of scheduled calls. This may vary, with increased hours typically required in the initial weeks (1-6) for core account setup, while later weeks may require less time.
Your consultant will advise you on what needs to be completed outside the weekly calls. Note that for Enterprise onboarding, the hours needed are likely to be significantly more given the expected complexity of your set-up and data model.
If you are struggling with your workload, then please speak to your consultant! We may be able to adapt your schedule to accommodate this or advise on where you need to focus your efforts. If you need to add more support hours to your plan (so your consultant and the HubGem team can take on some of the workload), please make your consultant aware and we will do everything we can to help.
We suggest that you choose a period for implementing HubSpot when your team can fully commit to the project. We also ask that you nominate an internal project champion who can help guide the project forward, and be responsible for completing tasks outside of the call.
