The amount of time you need to dedicate to onboarding depends on your goals, the support of your team, and how much time you can set aside.
The amount of time you spend on onboarding each week really depends on your organisation, your goals and what you want to get out of HubSpot, and how many processes you are bringing in. However, we know it helps to give a ballpark figure.
It is important to note that you are going to have to dedicate time outside our calls where you will take action and complete background work that coincides with the schedule of our calls.
We would recommend dedicating approximately 3+ hours per week to your onboarding outside of your schedule calls. Be aware that this will vary throughout the course of onboarding as hours could increase in the earlier weeks (week 1-6) as you get stuck in to core account set-up, whereas, in the later weeks it could be fewer hours. This ultimately depends on what your timeline is for what you want to achieve.
Your consultant will advise you on what needs to be completed outside the weekly calls. Note that for Enterprise onboarding, the hours needed are likely to be significantly more given the expected complexity of your set-up and data model.
If you are struggling with your workload, then please speak to your consultant! We may be able to adapt your schedule to accommodate this or advise on where you need to focus your efforts. If you need to add more support hours to your plan - so your consultant and the HubGem team can take on some of the workload, please make your consultant aware and we will do everything we can to help.
We do recommend that you implement HubSpot at a time that you are able to dedicate time within your team to the project. We also advise that you nominate some internal project champions who can help guide the project forward, and be responsible for completing tasks outside of the call.
